Museums Showoff uses WordPress.com to host this website, and we use Doodle and WeGotTickets to help us produce our shows. This privacy statement contains the following elements:

  • information about the data that Museums Showoff collects about you, how it is used and how you can change it
  • links to the privacy policies for Automattic (WordPress’s parent company), Doodle and WeGotTickets and details of how you can contact each company to request, change or delete your data.

Data collected by Museums Showoff

Museums Showoff collects data in three instances: when you subscribe to our blog, when you comment on a post and when you sign up to perform in a show.

Subscribing to the blog

When you subscribe to our blog we will collect either your email address (if you have entered this on our webpage) or your WordPress username (if you have chosen to follow our blog via your WordPress account). We will use this information only to alert you to new posts. We will not give or sell this information to any third party. If you no longer wish to receive new post alerts, you can do one of the following:

  • click on “unsubscribe” at the bottom of the email
  • log in to your WordPress.com account, click on the “reader” tab on the top left, select “followed sites” from the menu, click on “manage”, select Museums Showoff from the list and click on “following”. This should change to “followed”, indicating that you are no longer following this blog.
Leaving a comment on a post

When you leave a comment on one of our posts, WordPress collects and sends to us your name as you entered it on the web form, your email address, your IP address, and, where applicable, your WordPress username & blog URL. If we choose to publish your comment we will publish your name. All other information will remain hidden from public view. If you would like this data and/or a comment to be removed (whether published or not) please email us at museums.showoff@gmail.com and we will delete the comment (which also removes the data). Please be aware that if your comment has been published it will no longer be visible on the site once deleted.

Signing up to take part in a show

When you sign up to take part in a show you will be asked to supply your email address. We use this to contact you to ask for set details, with information you need to know to take part, and to say thank you. We will not give or sell your email address to any third party.
